Limagrain relies on EffiBOT to automate inter-building conveying
At a time when quality of life at work (QWL) and operational efficiency have become strategic priorities, the French agricultural cooperative Limagrain is taking a new step forward by integrating autonomous mobile robotics at its Saint-Beauzire site.
Thanks to a collaboration with Effidence Robotics, the production site now benefits from the assistance of an EffiBOT robot, an AMR (Autonomous Mobile Robot) specially adapted to Limagrain’s needs.
Automate repetitive journeys to better reward operators
The main task assigned to the EffiBOT at Limagrain is to transport agricultural seeds between buildings, both indoors and outdoors.
A simple button is all it takes to trigger its departure in total autonomy towards a second building, while interacting intelligently with the site’s automatic doors.
The robot frees operators from repetitive tasks with little added value. As a result, employees can concentrate on more technical or strategic tasks, improving both their working comfort and their commitment.
A companion robot in ‘Follow-me’ mode
In addition to its autonomous navigation capabilities, the EffiBOT also offers a ‘Follow-me’ mode, in which it follows operators to assist them in their movements. This mode is particularly useful in production laboratories, where pickers can now be accompanied by the robot when moving heavy loads, thereby reducing physical effort and the risks associated with handling.
A tailor-made solution for the group
The EffiBOT’s modularity meant that it could be customized to meet Limagrain’s requirements:
- Addition of a box structure to increase loading volume;
- Integration of a trailer with automatic Hook-A coupling, transforming the EffiBOT into a genuine logistics tractor;
- Installation of a flashing beacon to enhance safety in mixed traffic areas;
Choice of the IP54 version, making the robot suitable for outdoor use despite climatic constraints.
